I’m Deidre

I am a southern wedding and portrait photographer based in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. I live here with my husband, Brandon, and our two teenage boys, James and John Brooks. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Communications and a dream to move to NYC to produce music videos. Little did I know, a reality even bigger and better than my plan existed- and I get to live that dream everyday! Not only do I shoot portraits and weddings, but I also have the privilege of shooting at Samford University as their University Photographer. Go Bulldogs!

I LOVE WHAT I DO

I fully immerse myself into my life, jumping in headfirst with reckless abandon. This is also true as it relates to my photography. People often ask, “What is your favorite thing to shoot?”. My answer is always, “whatever I’m shooting at that very moment”. Over my 14 years as a professional photographer, I have borne witness to people’s highest highs and lowest lows. It is my privilege to create images that not only show what a moment looks like, but also what it FEELS like. I am grateful that my people continue to trust me through their lives- from engagements to weddings, babies to portraits. These memories are engraved on my heart. MAKING MOMENTS last a lifetime

Genuine connection leads to ease and comfort. That is my goal when telling your story. Whether it is making silly faces with your children to bring out true personalities or noticing the in between moments when ordinary life is happening, I remain patient and intentional until your story is told. You will pose, smile, and say cheese for the camera, but that will be the tiniest portion of your session. I have found that the images that stand the test of time and keep my clients returning year after year, milestone after milestone, are the unposed, authentic shots that transport them back to that place in time.
